Ticlid is used for:

Reducing the risk of stroke. It may also be used in combination with aspirin to prevent a blood clot from forming after a stent is placed in the coronary artery. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Ticlid is a platelet aggregation inhibitor. It works by thinning the blood, which helps reduce the risk of blood clots and stroke.

Do NOT use Ticlid if:

  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Ticlid
  • you have an active bleeding disorder (eg, bleeding stomach ulcer, bleeding in the brain), a blood disease, blood clotting disorder, thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, or severe liver problems
  • Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

    Before using Ticlid :

Some medical conditions may interact with Ticlid . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

  • if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
  • if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

  • Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Ticlid . Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

  • Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin), aspirin, heparin, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (eg, ibuprofen) because the risk of bleeding may be increased
  • Antacids because the effectiveness of Ticlid may be decreased
  • Carbamazepine or theophylline because the actions and side effects may be decreased by Ticlid
  • Cyclosporine or phenytoin because the effectiveness may be decreased by Ticlid

    Important safety information:
