Indications of Desogen
Desogen is essential used for the prevention of pregnancy. It could also be used for any other conditions which have been determined by your physician. An estrogen and progestin combination pill, Desogen works through the prevention of the release of eggs coming from the ovaries, which thereby prevents pregnancy.
Important Information About Desogen
Desogen should not be used if: you have a history of being allergic to an ingredient found in Desogen; you suspect or you are already pregnant; you have blood clots on your eyes, lungs or legs; you have a history of experiencing chest pain, stroke or heart attack; you have uterus, cervical, vaginal or breast cancer; you have abnormal vaginal bleeding; you have an active liver disease or a liver tumor; you have any history of yellowing of the skin or eyes during pregnancy or with a previous birth control; you have neurological symptoms or headaches; of if you would be in bed rest for a long time after surgery. You would need to contact your physician if any of the mentioned situations apply to you.
Administration of Desogen
Desogen should only be used as your physician directed. Also make sure to thoroughly read the label to get the exact dosage instructions. Desogen could be taken on a full or an empty stomach. To make sure that you would be able to get the maximum effectiveness of this drug, it would be good to take it at around the same time everyday. Also make sure that you would be taking all the pills that are in the pack. Avoid skipping doses. Ensure that you always have an extra pack of Desogen. If you missed a dose of Desogen, make sure that you would be taking it as soon as you remember to and then take the succeeding dose at your regular schedule. And so, this would mean that you could take two doses in one day. If you only missed to take one pill, there is no need to use an additional form of birth control. However, if you miss more than one active dose of Desogen, make sure to read the additional patient information leaflet which comes along with Desogen or you could contact your physician for further instructions. You might need to make use of an additional form of birth control if you missed more than one active dose of Desogen. If you are uncertain on how to handle missed doses of Desogen, make sure to use an additional method of birth control and talk with your doctor.
