Important Information About Clarinex
Patients who are allergic to loratadine (Claritin) or desloratadine should not take Clarinex. Prior to taking Clarinex, patients must inform their physicians about any allergies to any type of drugs, or any family history of kidney or liver disease.
This medication should never be administered to children 2 years and younger without clearance from a doctor.
Desloratadine decaying tablets or Clarinex RediTabs could also have Phenylalanine in them. Consult your doctor prior to taking this type of desloratadine in case the patient has phenylketonuria.
Administration of Clarinex
Patients should take this medication as prescribed on the label, or according to the doctor’s prescriptions. It should never be taken in larger doses or for a longer period than recommended.
Clarinex is normally taken once a day. Follow the instructions given by your doctor. Never chew, crush, or break a regular Clarinex tablet. Instead, the pill could be taken and ingested as one piece.
Missed Doses of Clarinex
